How come vintage marantz stereos are always missing the wood casing?

I just bought an old 1970s marantz receiver, and sure enough, it is missing the wood trim that goes around it. I found one on ebay, but got outbid. Is there a site that has the dimensions of the wood casing or something?

When someone finished using the stereo, they put it in the cellar or garage.
both place are wet. The wood would grow mold – literally.
Get fuzzy and yucky. Solution? take the wood off and throw it away.
